Arctic Loon
The Arctic loon is a water bird that is native to northern regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. The Arctic loon is well adapted for life in water. Its feet are positioned far back on its body, which makes it an excellent swimmer. It is also an excellent diver, able to stay underwater for several minutes while hunting for fish, which make up the majority of its diet.
The Arctic loon is a migratory bird that travels south for the winter and returns to its breeding grounds in the summer. Habitat loss and pollution are potential threats to its populations. Therefore, it is important to protect the habitats where Arctic loons live to ensure that their populations remain healthy.
